Gibraltar

Just left Gib now and we are off to Imperia, Italy. Probably arrive in about 2 days...if mother nature is nice to us.

If you go to Gibraltar you have to do the tour with the caves, monkeys and a view point. You can find these tours in the center of the square. They are 20 pounds each and you get a private car. It´s awesome and no hassel.

If you are feeling hungry and peckish you have to go to Gaucho´s. OMG. it´s the best resturant around and you will be in food heaven. We had a grilled goat cheese for starter and a nice glass of chardonnay. For main I had grilled seabass and Ryan had the argentinian fillet. It was to die for. We didn´t do dessert as we were full to the brim and rolled back to the boat. Gaucho opens at 13,30 for lunch and they are open for dinner aswell. The service is good and the vibe is brilliant.

"Gibraltar is a British overseas territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean. A peninsula with an area of 6.843 square kilometres (2.642 sq mi), it has a northern border with Spain. The Rock of Gibraltar is the major landmark of the region. At its foot is the densely populated city area, home to almost 30,000 Gibraltarians and other nationalities.[3]

An Anglo-Dutch force captured Gibraltar in 1704 during the War of the Spanish Succession. The territory was subsequently ceded to Britain by Spain under the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713. It was an important base for the British Royal Navy; today its economy is based largely on tourism, financial services, and shipping.[4][5]

The sovereignty of Gibraltar is a major point of contention in Anglo-Spanish relations as Spain asserts a claim to the territory.[5] Gibraltarians resoundingly rejected proposals for Spanish sovereignty in referenda held in 1967 and 2002. Under its 2006 constitution Gibraltar governs its own affairs, though some powers, such as defence and foreign relations, remain the responsibility of the UK Government." (Wikipedia)
